:Free Dinner with Experts on Sponsoring an Afghan Family: Feb18

Over 124,000 displaced Afghans have come to our shores since August 31 of last year, in desperate need of material and spiritual support.

Seeing the need and sensing the call of God to help, Samaritan’s Purse stepped forward to meet the challenge, investing heavily with both manpower and materials.
The result was a pragmatic resettlement program to help churches respond to this need.

If your church is considering sponsoring an Afghan family and would like to know what’s involved,  Samaritans Purse is coming to Virginia Beach Community Chapel this weekend to conduct a Seminar on the Welcoming Our Afghan Neighbors –  how to help a displaced Afghan family acclimate to their new home.

Put yourself in their shoes.  What would you want if you lost everything?  What if you had to settle your whole family in a foreign country, with a language and culture you didn’t understand?  What kind of help would you want?

The seminar explains how our churches can help, and practical ways by which we as individuals can share God’s love with our new neighbors.  The deadline for registration is less than 24 hours away,  for both the Samaritan’s Purse Pastors’ Dinner and Seminar.

Please make sure your pastor is aware of this opportunity.  Also, don’t forget to sign up yourself.

Pastors’ Dinner: Friday, Dec 18, 6-8 PM

Welcoming our Afghan Neighbors Seminar: Sat. Feb 19, 7:30 AM to 5 PM

Please take advantage of this opportunity if you possibly can.  There’s so much to learn, and when we help the stranger, it’s like ministering to the Lord Himself.   “Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.”  Matthew 25:40 (KJV).
