A Treasure Hampton Roads Needs to Discover!
We are honored to have Terry & Barbi Frankin of Nashville, TN. visit Hampton Roads for the third time in four months. The Franklins lead worshippers into heavenly places and have a beautiful marriage ministry–both of which have blessed thousands across the world for 25 years. I met them at the home of our friends, Pastor Peter & Margaret McLewin, over dinner. The Franklin’s had just lead another worship session at Peter’s church, Ingleside Church in Norfolk that weekend.
After dinner, Teri & Barbi led us in worship that was really heavenly. Barbi also sings prophetic songs over people as she plays the violin. So refreshing! They also shared about how they have built a beautiful marriage after decades of godly prayer together. Click here for a video Terri wrote and sings that really speaks to me as a husband.
I was deeply touched by all of that and I sensed that these two have the kind of seasoned, wise and holy hearts that could help many in Hampton Roads, especially our Christian leaders. We pastors and ministry workers need this kind of ministry. They know lots of ministers, even many famous ones. They knew the agonies and the ecstasies of ministry first hand–especially how to have a strong marriage in ministry.
The McLewins and I heartily recommend the Franklin’s to the Body of Christ in Hampton Roads. The videos online do not do them justice.
This Oct 11-12, on Wednesday evening and twice on Thursday, they will be ministering to us. They will lead a service of just worship on Wednesday Oct. 11 at Ingleside Church at 925 Ingleside Rd, Norfolk, VA 23502 starting at 7 PM. Free and open to the public!
Pastors can meet them at 10:30 on Thursday morning to learn more about their marriage ministry. Click here to see many details about that. This meeting will be at the IHOP restaurant in Kempsville at 1316 Fordham Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. That night at 7 PM, Terri & Barbi will lead a shorter time of ministry and give us a preview of what their marriage seminars look like. This meeting place will be announced at the morning meeting. Contact me at this email if you wish to be notified of that location.
Here is more detailed information about the Franklin’s. You will be surprised at the breadth and depth of their ministry!
Terry & Barbi Franklin are singers, songwriters, and speakers that have ministered full- time for over 32 years as a duo, focusing on their theme: “Inspiring Love in the Home & Revival in the Church.” Through Family Worship Events and Marriage Retreats nation-wide, as well as in 39 countries worldwide, they are touching countless marriages and families with the hope and love of Jesus.
Terry & Barbi possess a burning desire to see God bring Revival and Awakening to the church… starting inside our homes… and spreading to the whole Family of God and ultimately to unbelievers. Their sons, Tyler and Travis, ministered with them until their later college years, and now they are both married. As skilled singers, along with Terry’s abilities at the keyboard and Barbi’s talent on violin, they lead listeners into a worship experience that touches many hearts through their harmonies and heart-felt message.
Giving all the glory to God for His blessings and favor, they have founded a mission’s organization called Heart for the World, Inc, (now called Love Sings) which focuses on evangelism as well as bringing encouragement to marriages and families world-wide. Through marriage retreats, evangelistic festivals, and worship gatherings around the globe, the Franklins have seen many thousands of souls saved, churches planted, and lives changed by their message of hope, redemption, and restoration.
Through the years, they have worked with many well-known Christian leaders and artists such as Billy Graham, Jim Cymbala and The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Focus on the Family, Coach Bill McCartney and Promise Keepers, Adrian Rogers, Jack Hayford, Steve & Annie Chapman, Bill & Gloria Gaither, David Jeremiah, Kay Arthur, Gary Smalley, Judge Roy Moore, Josh McDowell, Don Wildmon and The American Family Association, and many others. ( Empahsis mine)
As songwriters, they have had noteworthy success. Artists across a wide range, from The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir to Carrie Underwood have recorded their songs. They have won numerous Dove Awards and award nominations but more important to them are the changed lives and healed marriages and families they have seen through the years as God has used them.
Lot’s of Youtube videos of their music ministry here. I looked at a few. Honestly–these videos do not communicate the power of their worship ministry now. They are at a new level of ministry now from what I have seen.
