Our church is so blessed to have Aaron as our Worship Leader and Olivia is our Assistant Worship Leader. God has great plans for them and they are already moving in new revelation from the Holy Spirit to enhance our worship and the worship of the Lord across our region and state. Praise God!!

Let’s Begin at the Very Beginning…
January is the beginning of a new year.

Let’s talk about the beginning of everything for you and me as Christians.

Want to love God even more than you do?

Want to feel safer in God’s care of you?

Want to have greater assurance of your salvation?

Want to be more motivated to worship God more?

Want to be more dedicated to using your life for God’s purposes?

Then you could benefit from knowing the scripture doctrine of Election. 

The Doctrine of Election is a basic belief held by most of Christendom that God chooses who goes to heaven. He foreknows us, predestines us, calls us, justifies us and one day, glorifies those whom He has chosen to be His sons and daughters ( Rom. 8:29-30).

Properly understood, this doctrine should help all Christians to be more grateful, more humble, more prone to worship God and more motivated to use our lives for His glory.

This is one of the most complex sermons I have ever given, one of the hardest to prepare and the result seems like God anointed it. I give God all the credit for any good it does for others–just as I give God all the credit for any good I do as a Christian. I am what I am by the grace of God. (1 Cor. 15:5)

This is my humble attempt to teach the biblical doctrine of election and predestination. This is a message just for Christians who trust that the Bible really does reveal the exact truth of what God thinks and does–at least of those things that He wants us to know.

God, of course, is much more than we could ever know! He is God Almighty!

If you are a Christian, I hope this message helps you know how incredibly special you are and what a sacred life you have been given to live for God and for others!

Our New Year’s Eve Sunday Service was a strong reminder that God cares about our feelings, our hurts, our dreams, our disappointments and He is the source of our greatest joy and peace.

Pastor Vic taught about how important it is to have a personal encounter with God in order to believe in Jesus deeply. The seven signs Jesus performed in the Gospel of John are written: “that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” ( John 20:21)

Patti just went home to be with the Lord she loved and served. We had her for eight years in our church. God used her mightily to birth and grow our church through her love, service and prayers. We miss her but we are sure we will see her again in heaven. God bless her family. Thank You, Lord, for loaning us Patti for awhile!

Few things grieve the Holy Spirit more than division among God’s people.

Second in the series on How to Pray for Revival. The first message was on why we need to pray desperate prayers. This one says we must pray repentant prayers. We use the Asbury College Revival on February 3, 1970 as a beautiful example of this truth.

This is the first in a month-long series on praying for revival.  We need to allow ourselves to be desperate before God in prayer if we want to pray with the intensity that God loves. He wants us hot in prayer–not lukewarm. I am too lukewarm in many things. I need revival. I hope this video convinces you that you also need a fresh touch from God.

Our son, David Fox spoke passionately today on why the theory of evolution is a bad idea scientifically and morally— a grand slam of information, revelation and inspiration The law of “Supernatural Selection” was obviously at work in the results! We all loved it. I vote it “Best in Series” of five message this month on this topic. God willing, we will help start a movement to get the much better theory of Intelligent Design into local schools taught along side the now-largely debunked theory of evolution. Hopefully, this will protect many students from the very false scientific persuasion that science has proven there is no evidence for a creator. THERE IS!!!

Rick Homesley and Maury Middleton did a great job last Sunday showing the excellent scientific evidence for belief in the theory of Intelligent Design rather than believing in the poorly scientifically supported theory of evolution!

Intelligent design needs to be presented in schools to be intellectually honest. Otherwise, the class would be more propaganda than education.

Rick Homesley heads the local creationist ministry that teaches Creation Science.

No that is not an oxymoron! Evolution and creationism are both partly based in science and theology. Credible scientific augments can be made for a created world. Christians should know those facts.

Evolution is one of the main philosophical foundations for unlimited abortion and moral relativism–both scourges of our world. A local group has met in Tidewater for years with monthly speakers on the Peninsula, Southside and in Richmond. They also have a fine lending library. Contact Rick Homesley at this email address. 

There is so much evidence to challenge Darwin’s Theory of how the many species of life developed on earth but here are my three favorites so far. The strongest challenge is one I am learning about now from molecular biology. Stephen Meyer’s book, Signature in the Cell, is a powerful refutation of evolution’s claims of random mutations directed by natural selection as the primary cause of biodiversity.

8. Effects of the Baptism in the Spirit ❖ Some feel heat, “electricity”, heaviness, deep reverence ❖ Often with tears, great joy & great peace ❖ Sometimes with shaking, falling down, laughing ❖ Often with gift of tongues, prophesy. Not always ❖ Some feel nothing but they still get filled with God! ❖ Can & should be filled many times after this
9. How Necessary? ❖ The greatest single difference between the early church and Christianity today is the early church’s awareness and experience of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit! ❖ Most Christians in 2017 would describe their conversion and Christian life with little emphasis on the Holy Spirit —exactly the opposite of how NT Christians would describe their conversion and their Christian life.
10. How to Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit ❖ Be empty to be filled: ❖ Honestly admit our inadequate faith, love and obedience & spiritual power to help others ❖ Be desperate to change ❖ Want this to glorify God and not for personal promotion ❖ Want this to be better witnesses for Jesus, to love God passionately and to love our neighbors well— so many will hear and see the Gospel and be saved.

Greatest Baptist Revival: Shantung, China, 1931 ❖ Many Baptist missionaries disappointed with the spiritual coldness of themselves, their churches and their missions work. ❖ Miss Marie Monsen—A Lutheran from Norway— started the revival and prophesied it would come because the people had fulfilled 2 Chron. 7:14 ❖ Hundreds filled with Spirit. Many church leaders born again! ❖ Many shook, laughed a lot, fell down and could not move.
13. Prep for Pentecost 2017 ❖ Seek the Lord with all your heart ❖ Admit your need for more of His power ❖ Confess any sins. Forgive everyone, including God & yourself. ❖ Break agreement with any lies you have believed about yourself or with any false religions, Freemasonry or occult involvement. ❖ Fast as much as you can and pray for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit daily.

A Taiwanese Hakka lady who is now a Hallelujah Lady–home at last with Jesus who won her heart years ago. He is the love of her life now more than ever. This bright, beautiful, funny girl made all of our lives richer and brighter.

On February 18, 2015, God called her home. Heaven is the richer now. We all miss her. Thank God for the reunion to come!
